GNVLOOP Privacy Policy

GNVLOOP ("we," "us," or "the app") is a community entertainment and events guide for the Gainesville, Florida area. This policy explains what information the GNVLOOP mobile app and website handle, and how. We built GNVLOOP to be usable with as little personal information as possible — most features work without an account and without sharing anything about you.

1. Information you can choose to provide

• Account information (optional). Creating an account is never required. If you choose to make one, we collect your email address, an optional display name, and a password (stored only in an encrypted/hashed form — we cannot read it). An account exists solely to sync your saved events and saved filters across your devices.
• Saved events and saved filters. These are stored on your device. If you are signed in, they are also stored in your account so they appear on your other devices. They contain only references to public events and your filter preferences — no sensitive information.

2. Location

GNVLOOP can show events near you and sort them by distance. This only happens when you tap "Use my location." When you do:

• Your device provides your approximate location to the app.
• The app uses it only on your device to measure distance to events.
• Your location is never transmitted to our servers, never stored, and never shared with anyone.

If you never tap "Use my location," the app measures distances from the center of Gainesville and no location data is accessed. You can revoke location access at any time in your device's Settings.

3. Information collected automatically

Like virtually all websites and apps, our servers keep standard technical logs when your device requests data — for example your IP address, the time of the request, and general device/browser type. We use these only to operate the service, diagnose problems, and protect against abuse. We do not use them to build advertising or tracking profiles.

4. Third-party services

Some features rely on outside services. When you use those features, your device communicates directly with the relevant provider, which may receive your IP address and standard technical information under its own privacy policy:

• YouTube / Google — powers in-app video playback in the Media section. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• OpenStreetMap — provides the map tiles used to show event locations.
• Live365 and WGOT (Pacifica) — provide the live radio streams in the Media section.

We do not share your account information, saved data, or location with any of these providers.

5. What we do NOT do

• We do not sell or rent your personal information.
• We do not display advertising.
• We do not use analytics, tracking, advertising identifiers (such as IDFA), or third-party trackers.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

6. Children

GNVLOOP is a general-audience community guide and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your choices and data deletion

• You can use the app fully without an account.
• You can clear your saved events and filters on your device at any time.
• You can change your password in the app, or revoke location access in device Settings.
• To delete your account and any associated data, email us at the address below and we will remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and post the new version at this address.
